Androids are not machines. Don't call us machines, and don't call us robots.

And since I have your attention still, there's a machine running around. Tall, male, red eyes and white hair. If he starts anything let me know so I can test how sharp my sword is. I promise I'll do it quietly. Or at least with no one else around.

We look and can pass as human completely. Well, the other three could. I'm missing a lot of my synthetic skin, so I'm easier to tell apart from them.

For one, machines generally don't look human. It's just that this particular asshole does. Secondly, a machine doesn't give a rats ass whether humans live or die.

Not to mention they're dumb as a box of rocks to boot.

Humans are the creators of androids, if that's what you're asking about. If you want to know specifically who made me, it was other androids.

All machines are bad machines. I've only ever met one who wasn't a complete pain in my ass, and even then he was still a pain in my ass.

I don't think androids can be considered a species. We're made, not born. So I'd say something else entirely.

Normally they don't. Also the difference is that androids want to protect humans, and machines serve their alien masters to kill off humans.
