Since it seems to come up a lot, and since we got a bunch of new people recently, I'll make it clear to everyone.
Androids are not machines. Don't call us machines, and don't call us robots.
And since I have your attention still, there's a machine running around. Tall, male, red eyes and white hair. If he starts anything let me know so I can test how sharp my sword is. I promise I'll do it quietly. Or at least with no one else around.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the difference between you and a machine?
[Because that description she gave of a man with white hair doesn't sound all that different to 9S.]

For one, machines generally don't look human. It's just that this particular asshole does. Secondly, a machine doesn't give a rats ass whether humans live or die.
Not to mention they're dumb as a box of rocks to boot.

[Machines, robots, androids. They're all in similar categories as far as he's concerned. Of course, he's not exactly an expert in the field.]

I doubt he even thinks we androids have free will.

He's in for a surprise then, isn't he?

I think I understand. The difference between you and a machine is that you're more intelligent and you care. So if you altered the programming of one of these machines, like your friend up there, and gave him an AI like yours, would he become an android?
[Maybe it's just semantics. Although he's mildly intrigued at why she's so antagonistic towards this other robot.]

And no. He wouldn't. Machines have a collective consciousness. Androids are individuals.

[He is genuinely curious here, like what is this bizarre classification system.]

All right. Who's this machine that pissed in your cheerios? An enemy of yours?

Then you'd better put it down, hadn't you?

So I figure if he doesn't cause problems I won't have to take him out. Painfully.

The last thing anyone here needs is a logic virus infected android running around murdering indiscriminately.
