are you allowed to not tell anyone about it? or try to be better here? are you allowed to start over entirely?

[...That's certainly a thought that's crossed Houou's mind once or twice since waking up here, but then he thinks of some of the people he's met; those that have lead good lives, pure souls that see and do good, no matter what the cost. ]

Talk to the people here and make up your own mind in that regard, but I don't believe we are. The locals are simply doing their best to survive and those brought here are too varied..I do not believe we are being punished.

Unlucky perhaps, but do not thinks this a hell or a purgatory.

Guilt is a heaviness that few carry easily, but it is possible and no one need know your transgressions unless you want them to.

yeah, i think you're right. everyone i've met so far has been really nice. i don't think they're being punished for anything.

i guess i just don't want anyone to treat me weird.

This situation, all of us, I think are 'weird' enough that I doubt you will stand out and if you are not happy with someones conduct - tell them. There is no one here with the authority, nor the right to treat you differently.

Indeed. No law to speak of and yet the locals have existed in relative peace - there is a much bigger danger here than you or I, I'm afraid..

Past crimes will seem to pale in comparison.

what about new ones? like, if people here commit more crimes. are we supposed to ignore them?

No. But that is something that needs to be addressed in this new community as we grow.

The locals have worked with an eye for an eye basis, but otherwise, very little crime has happened here, by all accounts. The danger we all face seems to trump everything in their lives, but that is changing.

I do not have an answer for you, but new crimes should not be ignored.

yeah. it sucks that there are people who are stuck here like anyone else and they still...want to do horrible things.

Indeed. To some, it is all they know and to others..they simply do not want to change.
