Hello. I’m Lorem Laurel and I’m making plans to start running and hosting a sort of activity centre for the kids here in the town.

It'll be located in the house where my friend, Alex, and I reside. The rooms will be soundproofed and furnished so there’ll be a guaranteed safe place for the kids to be kids. Play games. Talk to each other. Things like that. I would love to get feedback on what you think would be needed for this since, admittedly, this is my first time attempting to run a project of this scale.

And if there’s anyone willing to lend a hand with this project - be it volunteering to help when it’s running or donating supplies of some sort - I would be grateful for it. I promise to compensate you in return to the best of my abilities if you'd wish for such a thing. Please don't hesitate to contact me or ask questions about this.

Right now, I guess the biggest concerns I have is getting the items to put in the rooms and figuring out what to fill the rooms with. I definitely would like one room to be dedicated to shows or movies. Maybe an art room too?

I’ve been speaking with some families and they’ve directed me to some stores that, hopefully, have both of those things when I check them out later this week.

That’s a great point! My friend, Alex, is letting me use several rooms in his house for the centre. We can set aside a room or two for that and quieter activities. Thank you for bringing that up. I hadn't considered that yet.

In terms of items, I was thinking of more soundproofing materials of course. To double down on making sure its safe for the kids to be there. Maybe first aid supplies too? Never hurts to be too careful.

Do we even have kids that young here? All of the ones I met seem pretty independent.

Either way, sign me up to help. Anything you need. I grew up in an orphanage, so giving back and working with kids is something I've always wanted to do.

Not a lot, admittedly, but enough that I think it warrants this. Plus kids should be allowed to be kids for a little while longer. If we can help them out in that than I’ll take the chance with both hands.

And I'm grateful for your help. I really am. Thank you. Since you mentioned it, would you be willing to interact with the children or watch over them to make sure they’re safe? During my conversations with the parents, one pointed out that some might get carried away with the freedom.

Unfortunately, the natives definitely do. I've heard they have to endure a lot, just to learn to be quiet.

The adult natives do cruel things, in my opinion... but then this situation itself is cruel.

I recently acquired the first season of a show called Featherman R on DVD. If you have a player and a TV, I wouldn't mind lending it.

It's very popular back in my world, especially with children.

I’m making plans to start scavenging in certain stores and shops to see if there’s anything we can use for the centre. I’ll certainly be keeping an eye out for a player and television set when out and about.

And Featherman R sounds like an exciting show; I’m sure the kids will love to watch it. If you want me to repay you for lending this to the centre, please let me know! I’ll try my best.

Soundproofing materials is pretty important at the moment. And getting a more concrete idea of where to get electronics would great with how shows and games have been mentioned so far. If you have any idea where to start looking for those things, I’m all ears!

As for activities, there's drawing or painting, crafts in general are really good for kids. Playing games, maybe even having them bring something in so they can show it to the others.

If I find any movies or games or anything, I'll drop them off. It'd be nice for the village kids to see what life was like before I know someone who'd love to skateboard indoors without worrying.

I love the idea of blanket forts though! Maybe I should dedicate a room just to the idea of beds and pillows and blankets? Someone else mentioned that there should be a room for children where they can breathe or pull away from others. This seems like a good combination, don't you think?
