Hello. I’m Lorem Laurel and I’m making plans to start running and hosting a sort of activity centre for the kids here in the town.

It'll be located in the house where my friend, Alex, and I reside. The rooms will be soundproofed and furnished so there’ll be a guaranteed safe place for the kids to be kids. Play games. Talk to each other. Things like that. I would love to get feedback on what you think would be needed for this since, admittedly, this is my first time attempting to run a project of this scale.

And if there’s anyone willing to lend a hand with this project - be it volunteering to help when it’s running or donating supplies of some sort - I would be grateful for it. I promise to compensate you in return to the best of my abilities if you'd wish for such a thing. Please don't hesitate to contact me or ask questions about this.

Thank you.

maybe we can find a vcr so we can watch movies! and one of those popcorn machines so we can have snacks for days
i can be a test dummy if you want!
or a pack mule i guess
this is a great idea and i'd like to help somehow, especially if i use it

you probably want to set aside more than one room for it if you can

some kids are shy or do better if they have a more private area to duck into for a bit and catch their breath

it's a good project though. what kind of stuff do you think you'll need?

Do we even have kids that young here? All of the ones I met seem pretty independent.

Either way, sign me up to help. Anything you need. I grew up in an orphanage, so giving back and working with kids is something I've always wanted to do.

[... this post really warms his heart, to see adults who so clearly care about the displaced children here.]

I recently acquired the first season of a show called Featherman R on DVD. If you have a player and a TV, I wouldn't mind lending it.

It's very popular back in my world, especially with children.

I can volunteer some time. And bring some of my animals.

As for activities, there's drawing or painting, crafts in general are really good for kids. Playing games, maybe even having them bring something in so they can show it to the others.

It's cool you'd do this for kids.

[He appreciates it as a fellow kid himself, but also... just in general, for those natives and non-natives who could use more safe spaces.]

If I find any movies or games or anything, I'll drop them off. It'd be nice for the village kids to see what life was like before I know someone who'd love to skateboard indoors without worrying.

I'd be interested in helping out, once it's up and running, too.

[He misses his daughter like no other. Maybe this will help a little.]

Well, now that ya mention it, I do recall seein' a game store or two on this side of Lafayette.

Can't say I'm certain what anyone'd find, but there might be something that ain't been too picked over yet.

what kind of rules would there be for this place?

(There's usually a catch with these kinds of things, right?)

no problem. and that's alex as in alexandre right? i know him if that's the case

[that's...a really good use of a house, actually. she hadn't tried to get a fixer-upper of her own yet, house nine was relatively comfortable, but this was certainly food for thought.]

i mostly go over the bridge, so the assortment's a bit weird, but i think most shops are gonna have a first aid kit stored somewhere. i just need to turn them over further. you're welcome to that and any soundproof stuff i happen to drag back.

Definitely. Even without being able to play outside, I know first-hand the kinds of things kids can get up to when they think no one's watching.

I'll try not to hover too much, but I'll make sure they stay out of trouble. And it might be nice for them to have someone they can go to who's older, too, just in case.

I would, yeah. I also could see what I can to help provide snacks for the kids, too.

[Sora has done a lot to entertain kids in the past, he's a great babysitter.]

Well, I did just get my cat back but I was actually talking about my ability to summon creatures called Dream Eaters. All of them look like animals.

I have a friend here from my world. Her name's Supergirl. She's pretty strong, so if you need some heavy lifting, I'm sure she wouldn't mind helping!

[like, extremely sure.]

I'm setting up a movie room at my house too! It's soundproofed and I found a whole lot of kids' movies at the library. I'm still going to play them on silent, just in case, but something is better than nothing! :)
