(Eddie had debated on whether or not to share this piece of information. But what the natives had said weighed on him heavily, and he felt like if he didn't and something were to happen...

He wasn't so sure he could live with that guilt.)

I asked one of the natives if bad things from our homes could come to this place. They said it was possible.

maybe some of you will think I'm crazy. Or the adults won't believe it. The adults in our town didn't believe anything and they didn't want to pay attention to what was happening. they didn't care about all the missing kids. I don't care if you believe it or not. some stuff exists whether or not people want to believe it does. me and my friends took care of it before and we'll do it again if we have to. we made that promise.

our town had this fucked up evil in it. and im not talking hellfire church-evil stuff either. I'm talking like...fear. real fear. maybe even the thing that made Fear

IT knew what you were afraid of. no, not your 'kind of' fears like thinking spiders are gross. i mean the kind of fears you dont even tell your best bud about. the kind of fears you don't even tell YOURSELF about cause the shame's so bad. IT knew you and IT fed off those fears. i guess it liked how kids tasted best when they died in terror

IT ate them too. im not saying it like sucked out their soul. no. IT would

(Eddie has to stop here. To breathe. To focus. He touches his own arm, closes his eyes, and counts.)

i cant explain how you'll know when you'll see IT
you'll feel
like you have to go towards something real bad, real scary

IT takes the shape of a clown the most when ITS just existing normally. IT only changes when its hunting. IT can come through pictures or sinks or anything. i dont know what ITs limits even were

sometimes IT called ITself Pennywise the Dancing Clown. IT told me its name was Bob Gray when IT talked to me. And sometimes you could hear that carnival sorta music.Sometimes it'd lure you in with the smell of popcorn. IT sometimes had balloons. A lot of balloons. I don't know. It lived in the sewers and

I want to say we beat IT for good but we didn't. i'm not sure if IT can BE beaten.

I dont know if IT'll ever show up here
but don't trust things to be what they seem. don't.

How did you beat it?

(Eddie isn't so sure. The android he just spoke to told him about how machines were evil. Maybe it wasn't so black and white. Was anything ever?)

We need to. We can't risk forgetting.

(Maybe it was just some people. Eddie doesn't know. He's not at liberty to tell others what to do with their memories, but he knew their memories were valuable.

Eddie comes to the door a few seconds after receiving the message and opens up. He thankfully doesn't look awful, but he is a little pale, and he certainly looks like he hasn't been sleeping well. He gives a small wave instead of saying hello with the device and steps back to let Majima inside.)

(That was something that the Losers Club would no doubt eventually look into themselves.......And likely without bothering to tell anyone. Kids these days.

Eddie doesn't recognize the username, but all the same, he's glad to hear he's believed. That's...sometimes half the battle.)

Yeah this isnt the first "other world" Ive been to thats kind of a nexus for all sorts of ...things I guess. Anything's possible 😓

(That...was really ambiguous, Eddie. But considering he didn't realize him or any of his friends even had any sort of abilities, it was impossible for him to properly describe.)

Sorry. I know that sounds dumb and kiddish. It's true though. And it went away for 27 or so years. I don't know if we managed to beat it the second time. I only saw a part of that.

(Again, he provides more questions than answers, probably.)

But what if you don't even notice IT? A lot of the adults...My one friend had blood explode all over her ENTIRE bathroom and her daddy didn't see it at all. You and the adults might not either.

(Eddie wants to believe in her, and to some degree, he does, but Lord knows it's not about that.

Truthfully, Eddie never wanted to go back home. The worst part was that IT wasn't even the scariest part of Derry for Eddie personally. But he wasn't about to delve so personally into his situation. Just enough to warn people.)

What does harrowing mean?

(Eddie's pretty sure that he knows what it means, but all the same, he's just twelve and hasn't been to a proper school since...Summer.

(Except Eddie's clearly not that upset here. Just. Gently startled. He wasn't expecting a voice in his head, okay. At least it was a nice voice in his head instead of...what normally was.

(I'm...fine. I just...I had this really bad nightmare the other night and I realized after- I should tell people. It felt selfish not to. I'm sorry if I worried you.)

(It's...surprising, and yet, coming from Tetora, it somehow isn't. Tetora had always been oddly kind to Eddie, after all.)

I'm okay. I was having some really bad dreams lately. And I realized that it wouldn't be fair to people here if I kept this to myself. Especially cause there's a lot of kids here and IT goes after them the most. Kids are easy, you know? To scare and manipulate

Are you asking if I have powers? Psh nah. I'm just a normal dumb kid. Pretty positive no one else has powers back home either unless you count the power of being a giant asshole.

(Which...is completely false. There was no real feasible way normal kids could bring down a literal embodiment of fear. But Eddie, and his friends, were all blissfully unaware of their quiet powers.

Their situation here might not be better, but in Eddie's humble opinion, he'd still rather be in this place than Derry, Maine.)

Do people have powers back in your home?

(Eddie hesitates. Not really because it's something he wants to keep secret, but being so unaware of yourself made things complicated.

Besides, the answer was going to sound outrageous no matter how he worded it.)

There was this turtle and it let us know about a ritual we could do. It had a lot to do with us believing and when we did, we began to hurt it and eventually defeated it.

It comes back like, 27 or so years later but I dont know if we managed to beat it again

(Sounded stupid, maybe, but Eddie's literally met a transformer before so you know. Kid's got an open enough mind when it came to these oddities in the universe. He shuts the door silently behind Majima, glancing out behind him instinctively.

It was...almost weird inviting an adult over in the sense that Eddie never knew where to stand with adults this early on in a more positive relationship. He couldn't figure out if he was The Kid and they were In Charge or if he could comfortably say they were friends or- or what.

Funnily enough, even today, he still worried more about adults than IT. Go figure. His eyes flicker to the man's device. And that makes it..just a little more clear that maybe this man was more of a friend than an authority.)

(He doesn't type out a trail-off. Instead he just shrugs absently and nods for Majima to follow him. He'd ask about why Majima slept poorly in a second. That sort of thing always hung in his mind. First, he leads Majima into the master bedroom. There's an actual bed in there, sheets all over, and some assorted odds and ends here and there. Obviously a kid moving himself in.

1. trends. we looked at history books and library stuff and noticed how there were all these random huge spikes of deaths in Derry at these consistent intervals

2. i was in a world before this one that pulled people from other worlds too, and in it we saw our potential futures and in it me and my friends all saw us fighting It again but when we were a lot older than we are now.

That's some heavy stuff. [ YES! She is now 1 for 3 on NOT accidentally swearing at or with children ]
What year did it come to your town? [ If someone can get a solid date for the year they're in now, maybe they can take some comfort in math. *shudders at those words in that order* ]

I guess. Our town's a shithole (Annnnd...you don't need to worry about swearing at all around this one.)

My one friend is from a different timeline than us. Same memories, different year. Weird, I know. But we fought it, from what I remember, at 1958. For my other friend, it was 1988.

Which I just realized almost fits the same pattern

I don't know what year it's supposed to be here but it can't be hard to find out.
Just don't get it from the locals. Find a paper or something.

[ Perhaps Eddie would have been reassured by the fact that Majima himself didn't even really have clear-cut mental roles for the both of them to fill. Someone had asked him once if he liked children, and the answer had been that it didn't matter: they take one look at me and start bawlin'. Majima looked like a thug -- the exact kind that any mother would want to keep their charges away from.

So he stayed away.

It was only that when he saw a kid in danger or distress, it was hard to simply leave them alone. Especially when he realized he actually liked them. Eddie was a card, and age difference or no, he could recognize when he had no real prior framework for dealing with whatever IT was.

He stepped over to the bedroom wall and knelt down to read. Most of the names were those he didn't recognize, but as he brushed his fingers over the names at the bottom, he looked up. ]

That thing took all these people, and no one fuckin' did anything about it?

So I heard. We talked about the similarities between our monsters.

If there's a way in, then there's a way out. No matter if it's a person or something else that brought us here. We'll just have to find it.

I think if I saw IT I'd know. I've faced a lot of scary things before and know how to recognize when I've got that feeling that something's dangerous.

Is IT attracted to people who have more fear than others? Those that would get more scared if they say IT? You said it went after kids and the adults didn't believe you guys, did IT not go after them?

[She might have chalked this up to a bored kid pranking everyone except she knows this song. Her very first villain pulled this to a less horrific extent and got away with it for so long because people didn't care. Once again Kamala feels lucky. Sure, The Inventor was crazy, awful, and nearly killed a bunch of kids including her. At least he wasn't a literal monster. He could be put in jail or killed. What he's describing is a malevolent force of nature. She knows that she has to speak up here. No one should have to face monsters alone.]

I believe you. I'm sorry for whatever it's worth. I know what it's like to have to face someone who is stealing other kids and preying on their fear. It's terrifying to have that many lives in your hands so you won't do it with just you and your friends.

If IT comes here, I promise I'll fight with you no matter how scary it gets.

I might not be able to see it, but I've fought invisible monsters before! If you tell me IT's here, I don't care if I won't be able to see IT. I'll face IT.

Some do, unbeknownst to most of the world.

But that is encouraging. It means if "IT" does show up here, IT may be quite vulnerable to supernatural powers.

It may be unstoppable in a world without powers, but here it may be nothing more than a nuisance.
