I would want to do the same, but there's someone here I don't trust from where I come from. Why would you say that about your mother?

If people continue to do bad intentions I wouldn't trust them to try to change for the better. If they really meant that, their intentions and actions would reflect that.

i don't want to make her worry more. i don't want to tell her things that'd make her upset.

That's thoughtful of you. Parents are going to worry. But, what if she found out about what you're holding back from someone else? How would that make her feel? She may want to have heard it from you. It's still your decision to not tell her though if you still believe it would help to make her worry less.

An enemy I know is here. But it's gotten complicated with something I found out about him from someone I can trust.

If you think it'll hurt her. Then wait to figure out when it's best to tell her. But you're the one holding in a secret. That can be tougher to do and can create doubts later. How bad is it?

I learned a bit of his past. I still don't trust him. It doesn't excuse what I've seen this man do. My friend sees something though and I can trust her. Maybe people can change. It's seeing it to believe it though.

it's my fault someone died. someone she loved a lot.

i don't know. it'd be nice if people could change and stay changed instead of changing back.

What did you do for that to happen?

Someone once told me something. She said sometimes change is necessary to give us a jolt and remind us what's important in life. If you change one way and see it's not what you truly wanted or something is blocking you from doing the right thing. You can change or you can stay on the same course. Not everyone may change, but you can have hope.

it's sort of complicated but i tricked a lot of people into letting these monsters into where we were. and they killed everyone.

i want to. even in a place like this.

i don't really know. there's not really school, so i don't have to do that. i guess just...whatever i can? to help?

I don't normally make these types of moral judgements. It sounds as if you wouldn't actually hurt anyone.

What are your skills? What are you good at?

i can draw? kinda? not a lot else, though. i'm 13.

I'm a pilot but when I got here I was assigned as a cleaner. What can you draw?

mostly trees. and dragons. and sometimes people. were you in the air force?

Trees are nice. What's a dragon? Do you put people in scenes with trees and dragons? It's the Navy where I'm from. I can fly anything. But I'm not from Earth. I'm used to space travel being the main source of traveling around.

dragons are like...big scaly monster things. i usually put people in them. it depends. i've been trying to draw people from back home so i don't forget them.

How big are they and can they do anything special? Who did you start drawing from home first? I don't think you'll forget them. You know they'll always be there.

well they're sort of...not real. so they can be any size you want. usually they can breathe fire and fly and stuff. i drew my mom and my brother, cause they're not here.

Are they used mostly in stories? It's probably a good thing your mother isn't here, she would be worrying about you a lot. Are you keeping track of things that make a lot of noise? Like loose floorboards?

Well, where I'm from there's a lot more systems. I was still born on a planet and grew up on a moon that was a lot of jungles. No, I don't believe I have. Asteroid fields and meteor showers.

mm-hm. dragons are in stuff like books or movies. but i'm being really careful here. i walk quietly anyways.

do you miss it? being stuck here on one planet?

Being able to walk quietly is great.

I miss being with the stars. I miss flying a lot. But it's not too bad being stuck on one planet. I'm not on the run any more. It's different not being able to keep moving at times.
