[Erik cares little for the voting process or who was chosen to lead. What he does care about is how that decision will effect him. The environment. The natives, people who he feels an odd and detached sort of likeness to. He understands all too well what it’s like to be crowded into a small space and forced to live in fear for being ‘different’.]
Congratulations to our new leader.
I’m sure he’ll treat everyone fairly and equally.
I understand the need to feel separate from this world but there can’t be an us and them, the natives. It’s us and them, the monsters who feed on sound.
Many of us have abilities. Powers that are useful. There are natives that do as well. If we band together, we can keep ourselves safe. All of us.
[He wants to make his motives clear. He wants to survive. To get back home where he has unfinished business.]
I’m compiling all the information gathered here and there will be three different sections. Public, private, and what you can help with rather than abilities.
Do not respond to this post if you do not have anything useful to add. If you do not want to take the risk of others in the community knowing your skills, don't add them or make them private.
[ooc: Please comment Here. This post has been edited to make more sense. The mods have given me permission to make it so that when the final post is ready and I put it up, characters can only access it if they've asked for and been given permission; even the public part of the post.]

He doesn’t frighten me.
And I believe you’re underestimating what we can all do together.
He’s not a threat.
no subject
He definitely IS a threat who's been hurting people here.
[ He can see Erik has put an edit to his post, but he feels like it's missing something: ]
You need to stress that it's at people's own risk if they volunteer information about themselves. There are younger, naive people who might not know any better. And it's on YOU if anything happens to them because of YOUR list.

But he doesn’t have to be anymore.
You may be a child, don’t think like one.
One man isn’t a match for all of us together.
Do you think that they don’t know that it’s a risk? Everything we do here puts us in danger.
I will protect the children.
Don’t respond again if you’re going to make assumptions as to my character.
You do not know me.
no subject
What are your plans for personally protecting the children? It's impossible watch each one, by yourself, 24/7.
FYI talking to someone like that isn't exactly giving you points towards being approachable.
no subject
That’s between myself and them.
Very few have come forward.
What are you doing to protect the children in the community?
When did honesty begin equalling unapproachablity.
I’m not going to gloss over anything here.

In my experience, people usually react badly when honesty is demanded from people who aren't being an open book.
Not to mention, it's usually more about how things are being said.
[ It's about thirty seconds later, he sends another message: ]
I run the healing clinic. I focus on keeping everyone healthy while healing injuries when I can.
On the side, I teach CPR while my friend who works there teaches first aid.
[ That's not everything he does... only things that the knowledge of could possibly benefit this guy in some way. ]
no subject
I don't care what you or anyone else thinks of me.
It may seem cold but I'm not here to make friends.
We can train and work together to survive or we don't.
So if a child dies from an injury that you weren't there to heal, should you be blamed?
I'll do what I can for those that come to me.
That's all I can do.

[ The dryness isn't even anything personal. This is just... how he is. ]
I'm not sure where the problem is coming from.
All I said was that it's impossible to do it all by yourself, all hours of the day.
My point was, from the start, that we should work together, and I have plenty of people who voluntarily decided to work alongside me.
Then again, maybe I'd have even more people with me if I'd used such a tactful approach.
encrypted private;
This guy's not gonna listen
You get enough attention from the clinic already you don't need this on top of that
encrypted private;
Ah...
Yeah. You're right.
I'll tone it down.
[ You're a good man, Micro, for reigning in the sassy teen. ]

I don't feel protected by you. I feel threatened.
More people like Kilgrave could come. More powerful than him. Than you.
You're not protecting any kid if you encourage them to put their name on a public list. If you can't see that, you need to stay away from all the kids here. They're better off without you.
no subject
I don't understand how you're coming to that conclusion.
I asked for people to join together. I told you I wasn't afraid of that man.
Then you responded with sarcasm when this is a serious matter.
That's always a risk.
I'm not encouraging anyone to put themselves on the list. I asked for help.
That's all.
i'm so sorry
But whatever. [ Those close to him won't put themselves on the list - Mike will make sure of that. ] Carry on being in charge of a list without giving us any reason to trust you with it.
[ Goodbye. ]
