It's been a couple of weeks since I got here with the newest batch of arrivals. My name is Sora and this isn't my first time in a situation like this one. Actually, I've traveled to a whole bunch of other worlds - some on purpose and others on accident, more like this one. So while I might be new to this one, I can try to answer any questions you might have - though I won't claim to know everything or even that it's right, just that it's what I've seen happen in the past.

Anyway, I know that there's a clinic already set up here if you get sick or injured but if you ever need someone who can help, you can text me. Doesn't matter if it's day or night or if I have to come to you. I've got healing magic and learned a lot of non-magical ways of fixing a person up. And if anyone wants to learn, I'd be happy to teach you.

Oh yeah there's one more thing. You might see some colorful creatures around with a weird symbol on them - those are just my summons. They're called Dream Eaters but they only eat the bad ones. Please don't hurt them. All of them know to be quiet but if you ever need help with something, they have different abilities. Some of them can heal and all of them can fight or alert me if anyone ever needs help. Or you can just play with them. They love being petted.

Here's what one of them looks like. [And here is where he adds on a short silent video of a Meow Wow.] Her name is Xi and she's about the size of a medium dog. The rest of them are all different and maybe don't look as friendly like the Tyranto Rex but they won't hurt anyone. I promise.

I've never seen how they do it exactly when awake. Just know that they do.

They usually only exist in the Realm of Sleep with the Nightmare Dream Eaters where they do battle with each other but they can still prevent nightmares while they're here.

I never remember my dreams, but it is best if they are not touched. But, what is this realm of dreams?

[Paint her legitimately curious for once. It was a rarity, but there had been times of invasion of a mind. This sounded not exactly close, but similar enough to contextualize what she and others had seen.]

Yeah, sometimes a person can remember dreams or even nightmares for a while but not always. So there are a bunch of worlds out there, right? Most of them can be found in the Realm of Light where people live their every day lives. Then there's the Realm of Darkness - worlds that have been swallowed up and are lost.

Then there are the ones that exist in the Realm of Sleep, worlds that aren't completely conscious. Like they're stuck halfway between the Realm of Light and the Realm of Darkness. They're not awake but they think they are - so it feels like a realistic dream. Or nightmare.

I know nothing of any of this. It sounds like mythology to me somehow, but you are saying you lived this?

Not surprised really. It isn't all that known or it could be that you're just from a different dimension where it doesn't exist.

Yeah, I lived through it.

[Or at least remembers living through it.]

Other dimensions? Are you referring to a Sea of Dirac?

[Despite the fact that the math was beyond her, and that the whole topic of that was complete speculation, not to mention that was meant to be more or less a 'pocket vacuum,' and not another reality... but then again, Ikari-kun had communicated with the angel inside one, so there were a lot of possibilities.]

I've never heard the term. But like you know how this is a planet called Earth and it has creatures called Sound Eaters. There are other versions where they have different monsters, different history - kind of like that.

[Is that called the Sea of Dirac? He doesn't know.]

[It was a possible way to view things with the Sea of Dirac. Really, that was just a theory of contained pocket vacuums. But, with what the angel had done to Ikari-kun, perhaps it was a portal to 'other realities?' It was definitely outside of her understanding, that much was clear, which was concerning on its own.]

I am not familiar with the concept, but it is easy enough to understand. That isn't exactly a sea of dirac, but maybe it is related.

[He doesn't really know how it works. All he does know is that sometimes people show up that he knows - Sora's been to their world, met them, fought with them but very few of them actually remember any of this.]

I usually just call them alternate worlds. It's easy for other people to understand when I say it like that.

Yes, that might be best. I doubt physics in a vacuum is something most are familiar with. Alternate worlds at least is simple.

It'd probably go over my head and I've actually been to a bunch of alternate worlds.

It's a bit advanced for me. I know 'what' it is, but not a lot about it, and how it works.

Me too. I wouldn't even have known about them if people from worlds I've been to hadn't shown up in another world without any memory of me being there. It wasn't because time was funny and they came from an earlier point, they just didn't know me.

I have to admit that this is very confusing to me. I can't understand how any of this is possible to begin with. Has that happened here?

Yeah, it's not really something I like to tell people right away. Most of them are adjusting to all of the other weirdness.

Not yet, but then I'll admit that I haven't met everyone so I won't say there isn't anyone here I know from an alternate version of a world.

The idea is slightly disturbing, to imagine a different version of myself. I am not quite comfortable dwelling on it. Have you encountered such a version of your person?

It can be. I try not to think about it too much. Ah, a couple of times but it was only briefly.

There was one version of myself that I just heard about from someone I talked to and other that was turned into a crystal statue.

[And then the real Sora is out there somewhere.]

Very strange. I cannot imagine what it is like to meet a version of myself whose memories are so different.

[Being stared at by clones of herself was completely normal. Rei's idea of what qualified as normal could be questionable at best.]

It's pretty weird, honestly. There is also a version of myself who shares most of the same memories except for the ones I got while in worlds like this one.

That one, I think, is kinda the strangest to deal with.

[Perhaps one day Rei and Sora can speak more about clones. What it feels like to be on the opposite sides.]

That makes very little sense. It is as if the only separation is that you were split into yourself and yourself. You are certain that these are not clones, perhaps?

A clone of you made, and sent to somewhere else?

[A distinct possibility. She had very little concerns about their existence, and it was an interesting topic at least.]

Cloning is not a power of mine. Though I suppose there is someone in my world capable of creating replicas. Not sure how but my best friend had that happen to him by our enemies.

[He won't admit to being a clone, not yet and certainly not in public.]

It is the only reasonable explanation I can imagine, but the situation is strange enough that I cannot be sure I am right.

I mean, I believe it. Who knows how many worlds have cloning abilities.

At a certain technological level, it is to be expected.

Yeah, I'm not sure how they're made - just know that they exist.
