UN: purrusu | day 4 POLL
[ At the very top of the message, it does, in fact, say "POLL."
Also this is sent out like a mass text, so everyone can see everyone's messages. ]
I'm sure a lot of you have met our blue friend with the golden tassels by now. He says most people just refer to him as "Carpet."
Nothing against simplicity, but I feel like anyone with a personality and/or an obvious ability to feel emotions deserves a proper name.
... I'm actually going to let all of you toss out suggestions, and then we can just go with the one that seems most popular.
[ OOC: because of how this is set up, all threads are at risk of being threadjacked here...!!!! GO WILD, FOLKS. LET'S PICK THE BEST NAME!!!!
in the event you're not cool with threadjacking, please put a note in the subject line. :> ]

{poll} What should we name the one formerly referred to as "Carpet?"
(1) Cordelia
(2) Alfred
(3) Poly Esther

un: dungeonmaster
[ He hasn't met whoever everyone is talking about yet. ]
un: rugman
[Says said carpet. Dungeonmasters are great at naming things, right? All those NPCs and Special Important Proper Noun Items must be good practice.]
no subject
I actually think Rugman sounds pretty cool. Makes you sound like a superhero.
no subject
[Please teach him about modern pop culture stuff, Mike. You'll get to totally be the expert~]
no subject
They have super powers.
[ He gets the feeling he'll be asked what makes powers super as well, so before that happens - ]
Abilities nobody else has. Like being able to fly.
no subject
I was made to be able to though. So maybe it's not that super.
no subject
Wait, how were you made?
no subject
[
Clearly some truly epic level wizard who really went whole hog on the enchantment school spells and item creation feats, Y/Y?]no subject
Wait, you're not like a slave, are you? You're free to do what you want, right?
no subject
Maybe he hadn't even properly realized he even could think or feel. Maybe, at that point, he hadn't been able to.]
Master died thousands of years ago and I haven't seen him here either. But I don't have a master anymore! Ever since Aladdin found me I can do whatever I want.
[He's literally a dungeon loot drop that becomes a friendly party member NPC/mascot character.]
no subject
I'm glad you're free.
Who's Aladdin? Your friend?
no subject
That's right! Aladdin came to the Cave of Wonders looking for Genie's lamp, and we helped him escape.
no subject
You sound like you're from Dungeons & Dragons.
no subject
The Cave of Wonders isn't quite a dungeon, even if it's sort of like one. I've never met a dragon though! Are you friends with any?
[He'll just accept that dragons exist without a second thought, it seems pretty reasonable. If he hasn't seen one, that's probably just because he hasn't looked in the right place, right?]
no subject
[ And since Rugman (honestly, he thinks that's the best name for him - very superhero-esque) needs educating: ]
Dungeons & Dragons is a RPG by the way. RPG stands for role playing game. It's the best game that's ever been created.
no subject
[That could be because your world still doesn't know what electricity is, Carpet. Just a possibility.
Genie seems like more of a mainstream pop culture kinda guy for his anachronistic fourth wall breaking, too.]no subject

[His knowledge is spotty at best, but at least he doesn't hesitate to admit that he has no clue about a lot of things. On the other hand, he probably knows a lot about a few things; he must be a killer navigator.]
