I'm sure a lot of you have met our blue friend with the golden tassels by now. He says most people just refer to him as "Carpet."

Nothing against simplicity, but I feel like anyone with a personality and/or an obvious ability to feel emotions deserves a proper name.

Why not just call him what he wants?

He specifically told me to call him whatever I want, then said that Carpet is what most people default to.

So, I figured why not make a team effort to pick something and let him decide which one's his favorite.

There's nothing wrong with a name that people default too. Besides, you shouldn't give someone else a name so easily!

When there's no thought behind it, it takes the entire meaning of being given a name away, doesn't it?

Who gave you your name? Did you agree to it? How do you know there was much thought behind yours?

My parents gave me my given name, and the kanji of it means "bright", "intelligent", or "clear."

Back then, they wanted all of those things for me.

Either way, the one this was made for was never officially given a name... only a nickname.

So why not officially give them one and let them decide whether, or not, they want to go by it?
