What should be done in the case of sickness?

[He hadn't asked the locals because he always struck himself as a person who didn't get sick. This was, of course, a lie, he was a person to simply work through his sickness until his legs gave out. He should have seen this coming, really. Rain doesn't cause colds, after all, but working in the rain for almost a full day while not sleeping will sure compromise the immune system.]

I assume a quarantine is useful for the natives. All the ill are kept in one place with as much soundproofing as possible. If it's only a few cases then they may stay isolated rather than risk moving outside of walls. They don't have the luxury of a reset. [which is still sketchy as hell, to him, it's hard to believe he might have a second life ready to go]

There is, however, the matter of us.

To those with opinions:
Individuals with a sickness that compromises their silence should:
1) Remain isolated in their rooms, muffling sound as best they can.
2) Attempt transit to the hospital to minimize threat to the residences.
3) Attempt to leave in order to assure no sound eaters are attracted to the city.

If you have a better idea than that, go ahead. I've got nothing better to do than check this for now.

[And people in House Four can tell he's not talking in hypotheticals. He's curled up with a blanket, muffling coughs into cloth while facing the wall in his empty, empty room.]

[Reigen quirks an eyebrow. Yeah, he's not gonna do that.]

Pinch your nose if you have to sneeze.

[Childishly making problems is what she does best.

After introducing herself and letting her hosts know what she's here for, Lu Li is let into Aizawa's room. She looks about, struck by the emptiness of it. It isn't that she's much better - she doesn't have much in the way of decoration - but she at least plays the part of being "normal" by keeping a bed and a dresser. This?

It looks like a place a hobo would sleep in.

Lu Li doesn't want to wake him but... she can't exactly imagine him making a sound recovery in this miserable place. She sets the soup mug down and goes over to him. Squats, and starts moving some of the sheets so Aizawa can be at least a little warmer.]

i'll leave it up to you whether it helps! :>

[ And he's there just a little quicker than he said! He thanks the person who let him in, and doesn't waste any time heading over to the sick person's room...

... Yep, he isn't surprised it's the person he talked to on the network, though he does blink in surprise at just how miserable the guy looks. As far as the appearance of Akira - he also looks pretty tired for a seventeen-year-old, and is dressed in a black outfit (sans the mask). With a soft sigh, he nods in response to the greeting (his hands are full), and then walks over to hold a mug of hot tea out to the older man.

After setting everything down, he signs his own greeting, as well as his name: Akira Kurusu. ]

That's hot tea, by the way.

[ But that's all he's gonna bother saying before he quickly gets right to it. With a quiet exhale, he puts a finger to his forehead. There's the glow of a translucent mask, a glowing, translucent figure briefly hovering behind him. In the same moment, the teacher will be surrounded by the gentle, warm light of a Salvation spell.

Afterwards, with the figure and mask gone, Akira will be waiting to see how the man responds. ]

[She hadn't meant to wake him. His comment about "normal sleep deprivation" hasn't left her mind and she remembers how reluctant he was at having even just three hours of sleep. Lu Li lets out a low, buzzing sound - perhaps a sigh? - when she remembers that the rain's stopped. It abruptly cuts off after half a second and she quickly signs back:]

Soup.

[Followed by:]

You live like this?

[Reigen's careful to make sure he doesn't leave Aizawa behind, even if he's a bit faster than the obviously sick man. Eventually he guides Aizawa inside House Six, and into the nook. The door leading to the room Reigen claimed already had its pillows stuffed in the cracks of the door, and Reigen gestures for Aizawa to get himself comfortable.

He'll return shortly with some of the blankets from his room, another pillow, then leave and return with a bowl of water and soap. One more trip, and he brings a small side table from another room to put the bowl and soap to stay out of the way of the nook's main table. Reigen paused, nodding to himself at his handiwork before sticking a note that says "text me to come in" on the other side of the door before closing it, locking it, and stuffing the cracks with the pillows.]

...That should do it.

[He's speaking in a low and quiet voice, just in case, but that at least shows his confidence in his handiwork.]

Food'll be in a while. If you're about to fuss about getting freebies, just get me back later.

[Temporary as the stay may be, Lu Li thinks it's a miserable pit stop. Even shabby 7-11s by the road had some pitiful pride in trying to look nice. She knows he didn't allow her here for a lecture on his living space. Her question is enough to broadcast her disapproval.]

No wonder you can't sleep.

[Signed notably slower, presumably to help him with understanding the message. Lu Li gets up and fetches the soup mug, which she sets before him. When he opens it, the warm smell of tomatoes and onions rise from it. It's some good ol' vegetable soup.

Once she sets that down, she continues her chiding:]

At least treat yourself to a mattress.

Yeah, but you'll get better sooner if you eat, so it's better for everyone. I think there's some tea, I can get something to help with your throat and the coughing.

[Oh no being comfortable and cared for is the best way to not be a burden for long]

[how does he express his fear of losing aizawa here - a simple cold always had the potential to get worse and the slightest involuntary noise would end everything. he was worried, even if he knows he shouldn't be and that he should trust in his teacher to handle himself even in extreme situations. he shouldn't be afraid.

but he is.]

Will you ask for help if you do get worse?
saltsplash: (Newspaper)

[personal profile] saltsplash 2018-02-15 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
Well, maybe the hot tea will do the trick. I don't think it's caffeinated. If that fails, I'll exorcise the tension and stiffness and you'll have no choice but to relax enough for sleep.

[He'll gesture to "shush" before Aizawa can comment on that ridiculous statement since Reigen's moving the pillows and soundproofing around, and disappears into the kitchen to start boiling water.]

I'd offer but that's probably a bad idea too. I've got no clue on what a humans limits are. Especially when it comes to blunt force trauma.
