What should be done in the case of sickness?

[He hadn't asked the locals because he always struck himself as a person who didn't get sick. This was, of course, a lie, he was a person to simply work through his sickness until his legs gave out. He should have seen this coming, really. Rain doesn't cause colds, after all, but working in the rain for almost a full day while not sleeping will sure compromise the immune system.]

I assume a quarantine is useful for the natives. All the ill are kept in one place with as much soundproofing as possible. If it's only a few cases then they may stay isolated rather than risk moving outside of walls. They don't have the luxury of a reset. [which is still sketchy as hell, to him, it's hard to believe he might have a second life ready to go]

There is, however, the matter of us.

To those with opinions:
Individuals with a sickness that compromises their silence should:
1) Remain isolated in their rooms, muffling sound as best they can.
2) Attempt transit to the hospital to minimize threat to the residences.
3) Attempt to leave in order to assure no sound eaters are attracted to the city.

If you have a better idea than that, go ahead. I've got nothing better to do than check this for now.

I can't speak for humans, but infected androids should be destroyed as soon as possible.

I'm not sure if that's going to be an issue here though.

Right, I suppose I should have used more specific terms. [he's still not used to robots having... a consciousness. Or being used for more than being beat up by high schoolers.] In this case, I'm speaking as a human for humans.

To err on the side of caution, what sort of symptoms does an infected android show?

I don't know what's best for humans, since I've never met one, sick or not, before this place.

Infected androids have red eyes. Sometimes they'll scream, other times they'll repeat phrases over and over again, though it's distorted.

I think the reset room is soundproof so it's probably okay to be sick in there? It probably wouldn't be very comfortable though.

If people are using it as a common work area, though, the virus could end up spreading.

The issues there are how to get there safely without, say, sneezing, or the fact that someone might be reset only to catch a cold from the residue.

It does seem like a safe option for the infected person.

I don't really get sick, so I could volunteer to check in on or deliver stuff to sick people. I don't really carry sickness either.

It depends on whether you mean you don't get sick easily or can't contract disease at all. [He'd normally assume someone meant the former but... this place had so much weird going on that he needed to keep his mind open, even if his sinuses were stuffed closed.]

It would be useful to have someone to deliver supplies in case of illness.

I want to soundproof as many of the rooms in the house I'm sharing as possible anyway. I read a lot on sound dampening when I was thinking about making a web series detailing charms and exorcisms and I remember a lot of the techniques you can use.

So you're saying your house could act as a quarantine? That's hardly something you can decide all by yourself, it opens the whole place to infection.

the rooms connected to the reset room are the best option i think -- or maybe the town hall? you'll need to bring your own bedding & probably get someone to bring you food (or bring that too)

i don't recommend hanging in the shower room though seems like a +50 to sick right there

Considering no one's been in favor of option three, it could be much more bleak. [Which is humorous in its own way. A dark way, but hey.]

The only worry with a more public place is the risk of contamination. One sick person is much easier to manage than five or twenty.

I was familiar with someone back home who could accelerate the body's natural healing process. Otherwise, the medicine I know can't exactly take a person from coughing and sneezing to perfectly fine without time and rest. [It's not like he just doesn't want to go to a doctor, that would be ridiculous.]

A cough suppressant would be useful, though.

It isn't a guarantee, but I have a spell that can cure ailments. I'd be willing to try it on anyone who winds up sick.

In terms of the (hopefully) near future, I'll be soundproofing some rooms in my clinic as thoroughly as possible.
