[It's been a long week. Since coming back from the dead, Kilgrave has been in hiding thanks to Jessica's lovely PSA, but it's a small town and given the number of people who have seen him (not to mention the creepy stalker leaving gifts in his room) he's pretty sure that his return can't have gone unnoticed. There's also the matter of this upcoming meeting at the end of the month. He can't hide forever. So what's the alternative? Come clean, of course. It's time to set the record straight:]
Well, this is a belated introduction, but for good reason. I'm Kilgrave. The day after I arrived, a woman possessing super strength found me, put her hands around my neck and strangled me to death.
You may know her as Jessica Jones. The woman who decided that the next best thing to do after committing murder was to tell you all about it. She had plenty to say about me, didn't she? I know, I read it. Everything she accused me of is a lie.
Jessica is violent, unstable, delusional and extremely dangerous. She made up those accusations to blind you to the reality that she confessed: she's a murderer. Those 6 victims she talked about? Hers, not mine. She killed my parents. She framed my girlfriend for the murder of her parents. She ripped off a man's head with her bare hands. The list goes on.
I have been on the run from this woman for much longer than our time spent here. I don't want to bring trouble from home to this town, God knows living here is difficult enough, but I know Jessica is looking for me. And I can't keep hiding. So I have one request for all of you: Please do not help her. I'm under no illusion that we can stop her permanently, not when that room seems to bring people back, but if we can stop her from hurting anyone else we'll all stand a better chance of making it through the day.

Not bothering to deny the rest then. I suppose I should thank you for that.

Aren't you going to defend yourself?
super sorry, deleted this notif by accident!
no problemo
eyeseeyou
that's not meant to be ironic or anything
but could you maybe both just act like normal people and have a resolution to not hurt/kill anyone further because honestly
do we not all have enough to dealwith right now?
can that be an option please
no subject
You don't need to convince me. Try telling that to her. Believe me, I'd rather not have to deal with her bullshit either.

And he seems way too damn calm for a guy who was just killed and accused of all those things. Even if he said he's been dealing with this for some time now, and there's the fact that only one of them has committed murder here, so far...
... Time to play it cool, himself. ]
Welcome back.

Thanks. I suppose I inadvertently verified the claim that people can be revived from the dead here. Not a pleasant experience, I'll say that, but glad to be back.

Neither party is in the right - events from your own world not withstanding - powers have been used for personal gain and a man has been killed. An eye for an eye seems rather an infantile justice when the town as a whole has far greater problems..
[ He ponders what could possibly be on offer, before just asking outright - everyone has a price - it's whether they are all willing to pay it. ]
What terms of ceasefire would either of you agree to?

Yes, but please keep it quiet. If Jessica finds out she'll come after both of us.

[Inquiring minds need to know for scientific purposes. Here was alleged proof death might actually not be permanent. Something Hux is unwilling to test on his own.]
Did the encounter leave any lasting marks?
no subject
No, I don't remember anything. I woke up in the same room we all first arrived in.
I'm as certain as I can be because I know that Jessica meant to kill me and she told everyone that she did. If there's one thing I believe in that message, it's that Jessica can tell the difference between knocking someone out and killing them. She has plenty of experience in that department.
No lasting marks.
[Thank goodness.]

[He's not named Robin, either. He's..... honestly a little hurt to realize that he's been lied to. Still, if all this is true, then he guesses Rob--no, Kilgrave would have good reason to be lying..... He's not sure who to believe anymore. Was Faith just lying to help protect him, too?]
Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?
[Obviously not physically speaking--if Jessica murdered him, then he had been very much not physically okay. But he's apparently somehow alive again, and doesn't look like he's hurt, so..... well, he's not really sure what to think about that. But who wouldn't be upset and shaken by being killed and then coming back from the dead? If Kilgrave needs to talk, then Carpet is willing to listen.
After all..... they're friends, aren't they.....?]
no subject
I've talked about it at length, as you can see. I needed a cover story while I was hiding, Carpet. Hope you understand.
[It was nothing personal. No hard feelings?]
