What should a newcomer know about this place - about being here and what life is like - that the natives didn't necessarily bring up?

House 4
[Although his senses (particularly smell and hearing) still feel on the disoriented side, Zero has more or less been able to settle himself. He's resolved to push through all of this, despite how bizarre (and terrifying) it is.

So Zero has gradually been making his way around, sure to remember the rules as he goes. Eventually he'll end up back at the house he had been directed to and begin to explore a bit more. Admittedly he's still on the curious side. Feel free to find him moving about.]

[When Zero entered, alongside the foyer were a pair of rooms, one of which looked like it was a re-apportioned dining room. The other room was a small bedroom, or perhaps it had been a study once. The door to the latter opened silently, a pale, blue-haired girl with red eyes stepping out and into the foyer.

Her eyes locked on him, the girl pausing for a moment to give him a chance to move through the foyer first if he wished.]

[Initially he does peek around, but won't actually enter any of the bedrooms. While maybe he should be a bit alarmed by the appearance of her (her eyes, at least), ultimately it's nothing he'll focus on. He takes out his device instead.]

Are you new here as well?

[When he brought his out, she did the same. Patiently, she waited for hers to synch up and looked down at the message before nodding. There was no need to clarify too much more than that. He'd answered the returning question himself, after all. Instead, it seemed good to verify where in the home he was.]

Which room is yours?

Might be a newcomer to this world but I can suggest that you stock up on basic things like food and water. Always carry both on you just in case of an emergency.

The first bedroom.

[He briefly pauses. Yuuki is elsewhere at the moment, but it's probably worth mentioning (though she'll probably pick up on his thoughts, anyway): ]

I'm sharing it with someone else from my world. Her name is Yuuki.

I guess that's just common sense, huh. Although even that might be challenging, all things considered. We can all only be so silent.

[She'd seen the floor plans of these buildings, so she knew which it was. Down the hall, near the kitchen. A quick nod recognized it as she walked into the living area, where apparently one of the other residents had made a pillow fort for some reason. She was pointedly ignoring that thing. People could be strange.

The name, however, got her attention. Rei didn't really think of people by their given names, but that name had been given to her very recently. That was the girl she'd met... yes. So, this man was living with her?]

I have met her before. She suggested I stay here.

[She'd originally planned on just staying in some derelict location where nobody would miss her if she disappeared, but Yuuki had managed to convince her to come here at least.]

[the house is pretty barren, on the whole, not much furniture had been brought in or decorating done by the current residence. That is, save for the living room. There are no doors to the space, Victor hadn't gotten around the hanging up curtains in the open doorways from the foyer or into the kitchen just yet. His privacy was the extravagantly constructed pillow forth, which was draped in all manner of ways with every colorful and still pretty blanket he could find. His set up should be stylish, after all! The fort is a little den of privacy sat in front of the fireplace and it's bright against the otherwise dull interior.

There does seem to be some movement inside it. Victor is rolling over on his back, device held up as he typed away at it, killing some hours of the day that Yuuri was busy being more productive than him.]

[Aizawa's secured the garage for himself, now. Bit by bit he was accumulating things he might use to soundproof it. It was slow going. The door to the utility closet opens, making the slightest squeak as it does. With an irritated, soundless kind of grumbling he goes for the oil can to paint down the hinges, again. Honestly, maybe next time it rains, he should tear them do- Oh, a newcomer.]

[He's not distracted from his task of grabbing the oil can but now the new guy can get a tired, appraising look. So, someone to fill in the gaps. It almost felt like the house was getting crowded, now. Especially with people sharing rooms, something he hadn't even considered because- ugh sharing that little space with someone else all the time.]

[... he offers a short wave with his free hand.]

[He looks just a little surprised before nodding. Yuuki is kind like that, thinking about others and all.]

Any idea how many others?

[He isn't too bothered. After another few moments- ]

My name is Zero.

[She considered, having taken the tour of this place since arriving. Based upon the rooms that were set up for living space, and the fact that she knew of at least two doubling ups already, she could guess the rough size of the house. It was, by her standards cramped.]

8 to 10. I have not met everyone. I am Rei.

[Although Zero is aware of the plain fact that (most likely) a wide variety of people are among all of the abducted, he wasn't quite picturing a sight like this. You know, given their ultimate circumstances. The initial thought he has is that this person is just playing around.

They're close enough within the room that their devices should sync. Zero has the most unimpressed look upon his face as he types something up.]

You're seriously overdoing it. Shouldn't the blankets be more equally shared? It's not as if we're given much at all to begin with.

[It probably will be a work in progress, the whole soundproofing thing, and Zero has yet to figure out where he should begin. Although that could be said about everything else, here.

His own opinion about living with others isn't the greatest. Even while back in high school had he actually persisted in living alone and off campus. He'll just have to acclimate (in more than one way), save for rooming with Yuuki. He's thankful things have worked out that way. While they now have an actual mental connection, and with how she simply needs to leave a few of her butterflies with him, he feels less worried when she's physically with him.

Zero does watch as he works, though. At some point he'll type something up.]

You aren't new, are you?

[If he had to take a guess. Unless he somehow managed to fix things up in just this one day.]

[He'll have finished oiling the hinges by the time the message is typed out, turning back with an unsurprising expression. He shakes his head "no."]

We've been here about a month, now. [the message pops up. The associated username is "eraserhead," whatever the hell that means.]

If you have questions, make them brief, please. [As in, he wasn't opposed to answering them. It's just a matter of them being short and efficient.]

[While Zero has never been one who liked to live with others - even having gone so far to insist that he live off campus during high school - he knows that ultimately it isn't a big deal right now. There are far more trying parts in trying to get by under these circumstances.]

Have you learned very much yet about what's going on?

[Even just a month is alarming (as if nothing else has been, already. . .)]

What about anyone before you?

[Maybe he shouldn't have asked, but it's probably one question that can be easily answered. Right? He frowns, anyway.]

I'm not sure if I could do so. I don't even know where to really begin.

[She shook her head. It was almost certain that she knew next to nothing that he didn't already know himself. Typing, she sent back a little clarification.]

Nothing that was not said when I woke. Have you?

[It wasn't often that she asked for clarification, but it did feel important right now. If he knew anything, she could make a note of that.]

[He considers it for a moment before turning back to the device,]

They mentioned that there were others. They're the natives, we're something "other." We're capable of being brought back by the reset room.

It's not guaranteed. There were no outsiders when we arrived. They may have gone back or may have died for real.

[Lying on the floor of their room, arms and legs spread out to either side of her she might look like a child making a snow angel. But she's not and there's no snow around, just the cold floor beneath her. This is her existence-- this tiny person on the ground without a bed and a daughter to cuddle.

It's terrible.

This place is terrible. There's nothing to do and it's strange and she can't stop fretting. So she'll just lie here for now.

No one ever said adults couldn't be dramatic.]

[He's also upon the floor beside Yuuki, seated with his legs out in front of him, frowning as he looks to her.

( We'll need to figure out how to make this room a little nicer. Even just some cushions will do. )

It's more of an idle conversation starter than not. He's too exhausted to continue to heavily focus on what they're actually faced with.]

[His eyes widen a bit to that. Brought back? ]

If that isn't known, then I take it there's also no real insight of how we were brought here in the first place.

I could say the same. I'd really like to know how we got here at all, as well as any information on those Sound Eaters.

They seem not to know either, or to be unwilling to say. I think the former. They are focused on survival.

[This was no military outfit. She was sure of that.]

You may be surprised how many people wouldn't think of it. Carrying them might make us extra cautious but who knows when you might need it. Starvation and dehydration can be worse than a fast death.

I collected these blankets myself! The locals seem pretty keen on finders keepers. If you need one I would gladly share, though.

Are you new to the house? Judging by the look on your face, you'll fit right in.
