UN: 6O | Subject: Device Improvement - Let's Work Together!

Operator 6O here!

Can you guys believe we've been here three weeks already? Three weeks of mostly silence is a lot tougher than I thought it'd be. ( ̄ヘ ̄) Still, Earth is really beautiful, isn't it? ✿ Hang in there everyone!

Anyway, in light of a recent broadcast from 【regionsunknown】 I thought I should also talk about my own device improvement projects! I have been working on the following applications:
Shared Area Map - It'll be shared across the devices much like these text posts and therefore can be updated in real time to share new discoveries, added sand trails, etc.
Sound Detection - One of the locals was able to acquire a sound detection chip from home for me. It may take some time for me to duplicate it for everyone and to make sure it's compatible, but being able to use the devices to scan for ambient noise should help us all stay safer!
Searchable Encyclopedia Database - I'll need a lot of help to fill this, and we'll all have to work together to keep it properly maintained, but with this we can maintain a public database on local resources, the Sound Eaters, tips on sound-proofing and so on. We can even share stories about each others' worlds and important information about Earth!

If anyone has any other functions they'd like to see in the devices, please let me know and I'll do my best!
If there's anyone else who's also been working on improving the devices (especially adding memory!!! or developing stationary reference points so we can do real time positioning on our maps too!), let's work together! \(^∀^)メ(^∀^)ノ

All that said, I could really use some help beta testing and with data collection! Any volunteers? I'll be super duper grateful! Plus, you'll get early access~! (^_−)☆

Thanks everyone!
- Operator 6O

[Why yes, this android is taking full advantage of having directly tethered herself to the network and device to make it broadcast all sorts of fun characters. It doesn't matter what language your character is reading this in - all the faces and the flower are presented as is.]

I can't do anything about these phones but I'd love all those features! I can volunteer to do whatever testing though.

"Testing" sound detection sounds like a risky proposition. Still, if it were to work it'd be useful for training to minimize the sound of various actions... maybe putting some numbers to what will trigger a sound eater attack.

It's not every time or every sound which only makes it worse, really.

[Oh, it's the most helpful android. Once he gets past the ridiculous number of emoticons, that is also a very useful list.]

Sounds great. What about modifying the recording functionality? If we could set it up to remotely record video and stream the footage back to us, then we could use the devices as cameras to monitor the Sound Eaters without having to go near them.

[And avoid another two-day trek to Paris. The natives know so little about how the Sound Eaters behave (or say they do), but if they could get them on camera then they might learn something useful.]
underachievement: because i am sick of thinking about wondering about things (i gotta get out of this philosophy class)

How did you draw those faces?
dryeyes: but certain circumstances have made that impossible (hawaiian shirt + bags under eyes)

It could also be an effective tool of self-monitoring. Some people here have never learned to step lightly.

[And you can have that idea for free, 6O. Someone give him a gold star.]

Right, or use security cameras and transmit the recordings back to our devices. Whatever we can get. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to know how the Sound Eaters work.

I'm available! I have so many ways I want to try and use a map.

Let me know when the sound detection is working decently, I plan on getting some places better soundproofed so I want to make sure it's working.

[She's so kind.]

Exactly. Is that something you could rig up?
dryeyes: if you see me outside no you don't! (being visible is the worst!)

I know some people who would really benefit from having that ability. A shame they can't.

Great! I just finished doing a lot more soundproofing for House Six's kitchen and breakfast nook so figuring out how much I muffled sound or where sound might leak would be great.
