Now that the polls have closed, Carpet is excited to announce the winner, even if he's still a little shaky on the concept of democracy.]

Voting is over now, thank you to everyone who contributed! It was a very close race between Hot Dog and Teddy. Every vote really counted right until the very end!

If he isn't crushingly sad about forgetting Sora, then he would probably just shrug and accept it's Just A Magic Thing people that aren't him are able to do and know about--like the people Genie sometimes pretends to be, even though none of the names ever sound familiar to him. Who is "Nicholas Cage"? What is a "movie"? None of it makes sense in the slightest.

I have not yet met this hot dog either. The idea of voting for a leader is not something I think about generally.

Well, it's just a small part of a bigger place called France, which is a country that's part of a continent called Europe.

There are greater rulers of some places, but most big places like this have lesser rulers to watch over smaller sections. That way, people can be watched over in manageable groups. It's difficult for a single person to watch over everyone in such a large place.

And there are even places that give the entire adult population a say in what happens. They let them vote for a leader and for laws, kind of like how we all voted for the mayor here.

[Carpet isn't entirely convinced, honestly. After all, the Sultan of France--or is it the Sultan of Europe?--is probably dead, just like a good part of the rest of the world. The natives had said there were hardly any people left--none of them had even met anyone outside of their community, aside from those that came from the reset room. So did it really matter what higher rulers there might have once been, when that larger political structure had broken down? For all intents and purposes, isn't Reims essentially alone?

There's no real point in pursuing it farther; talking about it or not won't change the facts. He's more interested in this bizarre concept of democracy, to be honest.]

Why would they let everyone have a say when only a few people can rule? What if people make a bad choice for their kingdom?

[14 is totally adulthood, right? I mean, if Agrabah even has an age of majority, it's probably 15 or 16, maybe even younger. And he was allowed to vote here in Reims, so why should being human matter?]

Well, I can't say something like that has never happened. Sometimes people do make a bad choice, but in cases like this, it's not permanent.

People can focus on picking someone better next time. Part of life is learning from mistakes. And some people are willing to fight to make things better, no matter what.
