i'm not going to stick around and wait for them to kill us

How do you know new paths don't lead anywhere? Last I checked there wasn't an whole lot of work put into that front. The prognosis sounds a little premature. Just calling it like I see it.

That, is a very good question. I have several projects in the works. From reclaiming the city to rebuilding the hospital and studying the Sound Eaters. Time's a bit of an issue for me, so taking a mutli-tasking approach to the situation here.

Where would you say your skills lie?

but maybe i'll help do something if it's not that boring

[He has Plans. Which are probably more encompassing than 90% of the population would feel comfortable with. He can't say having to live in fear 24/7 doesn't make him want to act out and take the fight to the Sound Eaters in a big way.]
